Siempre he cre\u00eddo que no soy un tipo competitivo, pero s\u00ed muy entregado con lo que hago (en ocasiones hasta puntos extremos y obsesivos). Cuando perd\u00eda jugando al f\u00fatbol lo olvidaba con mucha facilidad. La semana volv\u00eda a empezar de nuevo, cargada de m\u00e1s oportunidades de entrenar y un nuevo fin de semana para jugar y disfrutar. Y si encima ganaba ya era la leche\u2026 Dej\u00e9 el f\u00fatbol cuando, con 33 a\u00f1os, por muy entregado que fuera, no pod\u00eda competir en igualdad de condiciones con mis adversarios. Esos cr\u00edos de 18 \u00f3 20 a\u00f1os -que reaccionaban y ejecutaban a velocidad ultras\u00f3nica para m\u00ed- solo pod\u00edan obtener como respuesta mis patadas y faltas. Estuvo extremadamente bien; pero ya pas\u00f3. Me enganch\u00e9 despu\u00e9s, por curiosidad, a las carreras de fondo y ahora hago deporte de forma diferente\u2026<\/p>\n

Me provoca mucha gracia las decenas de personas que me han comentado que una lesi\u00f3n les priv\u00f3 de una carrera exitosa en el deporte del bal\u00f3n de cuero y los que cuentan que cuando eran j\u00f3venes hac\u00edan esto o aquello. Como si la edad<\/strong> te limitara irremediablemente y te marcara un gigante efecto t\u00fanel en tus posibilidades futuras\u2026 Parece como si nos qued\u00e1ramos atrapados entre lo que pudo ser y no fue y lo que fuimos y ya no somos\u2026 Por eso me rindo ante Carlos Soria<\/strong>, un \u201cabuelo\u201d de 78 a\u00f1os que ha emprendido la expedici\u00f3n para coronar su treceavo ochomil, el Dhaulagiri. Su filosof\u00eda se resume en una sencilla frase: \u201cPor la edad nadie puede dejar de hacer las cosas que quiere\u201d<\/a><\/strong>. Como dec\u00eda Schwarzenegger en Terminator G\u00e9nesis<\/a><\/strong>: \u00abSoy viejo, pero no obsoleto\u201d. Carlos Soria, una persona centrada en lo que es y lo que quiere hacer. En su curr\u00edculum la edad es bastante secundaria\u2026<\/p>\n
